Through strategic collaborations with global partners and active participation in international networks, Universiti Malaya (UM) offers a wide range of enriching programmes in global education, research, and entrepreneurship. These initiatives provide students with invaluable cross-cultural experiences and a deep understanding of global issues, while offering distinct perspectives from the Asian context. UM’s faculty members are globally engaged, collaborating with international peers in educational and research activities that extend beyond the capabilities of a single institution.
Currently, UM is a member of fourteen (14) prestigious global university networks, leveraging the diverse strengths of member institutions to advance excellence in education, research, and innovation. UM’s leadership plays an active role in several of these networks, including:
• The Vice-Chancellor of UM serves as a member of the ASEAN University Network (AUN) Board of Trustees
• The Vice-Chancellor is also a member of the Board of Governors of the Asian Universities Alliance (AUA)
• The Vice-Chancellor sits on the Council of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU)
